Penny Wanina McCumbee age 59 died Saturday in her home. Born in Columbus County, NC she was the daughter of Essie Watts Nealey of Tabor City, and the late Robert Nealey.

She was a Special Education teacher with Tabor City Elementary School for 17 years.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband Herbert Dixon “Don” McCumbee Jr.  of Tabor City, two sons: Samuel Adam McCumbee and Aaron Dixon McCumbee both of Tabor City. One brother: Terry Nealey of Tabor City, Two sisters, Sherry Strickland of Tabor City, Jessica Nealey Thomas of Green Sea, SC. Two grandchildren: Kya Chere McCumbee and Kiara Sophia McCumbee.

In addition to her father she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Greg Nealey and Gary Nealey.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service in the chapel.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:00AM in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
