Mr. William Harry “Bill” Chipps Jr., age 70, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in the McLeod Loris Hospital.  Born February 19, 1946 in Washington, PA, he was the son of the late William Harry Chipps, Sr. and Dorothy Williams Marshburn Chipps.

He is survived by his wife: Lynda Shannon Chipps of Tabor City, NC; three sons: William Harry Chipps III of Charlotte, NC, Anthony Cook of Wilmington, NC, Jerry Shannon of Conway, SC; one daughter: Lora Harper of Tabor City, NC; one brother: Joe Marshburn of Maple Hill, NC; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was an officer for Pender County and New Hanover County Sherriff’s and Police Departments before retiring from Law Enforcement.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
