Sarah Margaret Rhodes Gore was called to be with the lord on Monday, February 15, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Lula Rhodes and brother Perry Edward Rhodes "Buddy", of Chadbourn, NC.  She was also preceded by her husband of 64 years, Charles Elmore Gore Sr.

Margaret lived the life of a farmer’s wife.  She was the mother of Charles Elmore Gore Jr., close friend and mother-in-law to Charles' wife Wanda, and loving grandmother to Charles Elmore Gore III (Chuck).  She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Betty Jenrette and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret spent many years as a grade mother at Tabor City Elementary School and as a teachers aid at Tabor City Baptist Church.  She was a long-lime member of Old Zion Wesleyan Church.  She loved gardening and working in her yard.

Funeral services will be held at Inman Ward Funeral Home in Tabor City, NC on Friday, February 19, at 1 PM.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.   Dr. Donnie Lovette from Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC will preside.  Pall bearers will be the New Hanover County Sheriff Dept. Honor Guard, of which her grandson Chuck has served.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at Champions Assisted Living in Wilmington, NC for years of exceptional care and to Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the compassion, care, and dignity offered to Margaret during her final days.
