Evelyn Thomas Ward age 81 died Sunday(January 10, 2016) in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Whiteville, NC. Born in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Nolan Long and Inez Nobles Long. She was the widow of Carl Junior Ward.

She is survived by two sons: Dale Ward (Wanda) of Tabor City, NC Chris Ward (Sharon) of Green Sea, SC. Four daughters: Linda Bryant(Michael Causey) of Green Sea, SC, Teresa Suggs(Ricky) of Loris, SC, Cindy King (Terry) of Ash, NC, Tammy Black (Donald) of Green Sea, SC. One brother: Nathan Long of Chadbourn, NC. Four sisters; Doris Strickland of Cerro Gordo, NC, Brenda Hilbourn of Cerro Gordo, NC, Velma Spruill of Plymouth, NC, Debbie Etheridge of Whiteville, NC, fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great- great -grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday (January 12, 2016) at 2:00pm in New Horizon Worship Center, Tabor City, NC burial will follow in the Carolina Cemetery, Green Sea, SC. 

Visitation will be held Monday (January 11, 2016) at 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.
