Joseph Ralph Long age 87 died Saturday in McCleod Loris Hospital, Loris, SC.

Born in Columbus County, NC he was the son of the late John Davis Long and Lizzie Delton Long. He was the widower of Roma Long. 

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army 

 He is survived by two daughters Joanne Long Sing (Tommy) of Tabor City, NC.  Dawn Long -Miller (Jimmy) of Shallotte, NC. Two sons: Joseph “Joey” Ralph Long II of Tabor City, John Dallis Long of Tabor City. One brother, Jimmy Dale Long of Tabor City, One sister, Dorothy Long Meacher of Lumberton, NC twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.    

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two daughters: Rowena Long Benton and Janie Long. One sister, Lizzie Mae Smith, two brothers: Tillman Dallis Long and John Gilbert Long.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00pm in Dulah Baptist Church, Tabor City with burial to follow in the Harley Ford Cemetery, Tabor City.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
