Ms. Doris Ann Meares Fowler, age 68, of FM Watts Rd., Whiteville, NC, died Friday, February 26, 2016 in her residence. Born June 6, 1947 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Taft Meares and Allie Ward Meares. 

She is survived by one son: Bobby Joe Fowler (Cathy) of Whiteville, NC; two brothers: Bob Meares of Evergreen, NC,  Jerry Meares of Whiteville, NC; five sisters: Nancy Fowler of Whiteville, NC, Eugondia Simmons of Clarendon, NC, Catherine Soles of Chadbourn, NC, Lois Raspberry of Whiteville, NC, Irene Hinson of High Point, NC; one grandson: Reese Fowler of Nakina, NC. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Jimmy Dale Fowler; one brother: Earl Meares. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center, Angel House, 206 Warrior Trail Rd. Whiteville, NC 28472.

No services will be held.
