Woodrow “Jack” Franklin Penny, age 81, of the Williams Township Community died Saturday, May 29, 2021 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington, NC. Jack was born October 23, 1939 in Columbus County, NC. He was the son of the late Barry Andrew Penny & Thelma Creech Penny Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ila Vee Nealey Penny of the home. He has two daughters, Vanessa Penny Stanley and husband Henry of Southport, NC, Valerie Penny Tarte and husband Phillip of Wilmington, NC. Jack also has one brother, Jerry Wayne Parker of Whiteville, NC, Jack has five loving grandchildren, Caleb Andrew Stanley, Elias Emerson Stanley, Isaac McKenzie Stanley, Phillip Masen Tarte, Nealey Collier Tarte.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Jeanette Penny Tedder.

He was a member of Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
