Veedis (Stalvey) Worley

Tabor City, NC

Veedis Stalvey Worley, age 71, of Tabor City, NC, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 in the McLeod Loris Hospital.  Born August 10, 1949 in Porche, VA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Clyde Stalvey and Macie Watts Stalvey.

She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, mother in law, aunt, nanny and friend.  Veedis had many other titles such as Miss V.  She loved God and showed it every day in the way she lived. She was a loving Sunday School Teacher for the nursery, of course, because she loved to have a baby in her lap.  She loved helping others and has been on several mission trips from Nichols, SC to Mexico. She also loved the beach and never turned down a chance to go.

Veedis was always smiling. She enjoyed life and living it to the fullest. She was the light of her family, always there when needed.  She loved to sew and make clothes for her grandchildren as well as many others, along with housekeeping.  She loved teasing her son in laws.  She never wore the same clothes twice. 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Morris Ray Worley of the home; three daughters: Shannon Hammond (Berry) of Whiteville, NC, Pam Cooke (Charles Jr.) of Loris, SC and Amy Watts (Ronald) of Green Sea, SC; one brother: Irvin Stalvey of Tabor City, NC; two sisters: Veneice Fritts of Dillon, SC and Becky Hewett of Tabor City, NC; six grandchildren: Paige Cooke, Jonathan Hammond, Charles Cooke III, Preston Watts, Cody Watts and Kaycee Hammond; and Brianna Tyler, whom she loved and treated as her grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Jeanette Lewis.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 3 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Cribb Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.
