Tony Johnson, 70, husband of Theresa Prince Johnson, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 14, 1951 in Tabor City, he was a son of the late Lester A. and Bessie Mae (Fowler) Johnson.

He was a member of Holiness Tabernacle Church in Tabor City. Always a hard worker who took care of his family, Tony loved being around people. He worked for Eagle Electric that later became Cooper Wiring Devices in Georgetown, SC, as well as Victaulic in Leland, NC.

Tony is survived by his wife, Theresa (Prince) Johnson of the home; son, Anthony W. Johnson of Tabor City; daughter, Crystal (Eddie) Stubbs of Tabor City; grandchildren, Elisabeth and John David Stubbs; sister-in-law, Jane Johnson of Loris; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Shelley of Loris, James Stinson of N. Augusta, and Gene Dunn of Tabor City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Buck Johnson and Jackie Johnson, and sisters, Doris Shelley, Jo Anne Stinson, and Patsy Johnson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 31, 2021, at Holiness Tabernacle in Tabor City, with Rev. Terry Nealey and Rev. Robert Nealey officiating. Burial will follow in Old Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Inman Ward Funeral Home.
