Shirley Jane (Sutton) Norris

Shirley Jane Norris, age 70, died Friday, May 26, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Lexington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Homer James Sutton and Frances Laws Sutton.

She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Original Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Steward Norris of Tabor City, NC; three sons, Jeffrey Norris and wife Tammy of Clarendon, NC, Jonathan Norris and wife Heather of Tabor City, NC, and Joshua Norris and wife Julie of Tabor City, NC; three sisters, Katherine Gordon, Marie Queen, and Linda Saddler all of Lexington, NC; eleven grandchildren, Shonna, Whitney, Kyle, Caroline, Cameron, Trevor, Chandler, Madison, Caleb, Cailee, Haven, and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Sutton; and five sisters, Mildred Ballow, Della Queen, Janice Osbourne, Barbara Crawford and Thelma Sutton.

A visitation will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 2 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
