Richard Douglas Grainger, age 75, died Sunday, September 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born September 13, 1949 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late William Billy Grainger and Hazel Strickland Grainger.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Grainger Ellis and husband Greg of Wilmington, NC. One son, Neal Grainger and wife Jessica of Wilmington, NC. One sister, Sheryl Dameron of Tabor City, NC. Four grandchildren, Emma Kate Ellis, Lauren Ellis, Zachary Grainger, and Logan Grainger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Strickland.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
