Rev. Charles Wesley Clubb, age 83 of Fayetteville, NC, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Autumn Care of Raeford, NC.  Born May 20, 1941 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Rev. Clifford Wright Clubb and Vergie Cox Clubb.

Charles graduated from Marion High School, Marion, IN and Central Wesleyan College, Central S.C.  He earned his Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, GA in 1970.  He served as pastor of Presbyterian Churches in Andrews, NC; Knoxville, TN; Hope Mills, NC, Madison, NC; Petersburg, VA; and Burkeville, VA.  After his retirement in 2006, he served as Supply Pastor at Presbyterian Churches in South Hill, VA; Kenbridge, VA, and again in Burkeville, VA. 

 Rev. Clubb was instrumental in establishing Clothes Closets for the needy in Andrews, NC and surrounding counties. In Knoxville, TN he was active in the National Association of Christians and Jews and a member of the Knoxville Police Auxiliary.  In Hope Mills, NC, he solicited help from other pastors to establish Alms House, which is still in operation.  He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors for Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity, and was Chaplain of Hope Mills Police Department 1987-1991. He was a member of Coastal Carolina Presbytery and served on the Commission on Ministry.  Rev. Clubb established another Alms House in Burkeville, VA (Nottoway County), which will celebrate its 20th Anniversary later this month.  There he was a member of Presbytery of the James and served on the Commision on Ministry.  Rev. Clubb loved his Lord and the church, his family, and his special dog Sasha.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Verne Gravley Clubb of the home; two sons, David Charles Clubb (Sarah) of Bexley, OH, and Jonathan Gregory Clubb (Jackie) of Fayetteville, NC; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Clubb (Julie) of Jacksonville, FL; and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Kathryn, Hayden, Anne, and Nathan.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Old Zion Church Cemetery, 10626 Swamp Fox Hwy E., Tabor City, NC.

The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
