Rebecca Chavis Spivey, age 69, of Whiteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 in Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center, Whiteville, NC.

Born May 15, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stella Mae Ellerbe.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony Spivey (Becky) of Aynor, SC and Phillip Spivey of Whiteville, NC; three brothers, Nathan Chavis (Valdena) of Lexington, NC, Charles Berry of Rockingham, NC, and Jasper Berry of Gibson, NC; two sisters, Myrtle Paul (Mack) of Rockingham, NC, and Kristy Smith (Shain) of Laurinburg, NC; and four grandchildren, Abigail Spivey, Lakelyn Spivey, Addison Spivey, and Easton Spivey.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Monroe Spivey.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wright Cemetery.
