Rickey Scott Oxford, 59, of Little River, SC was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Rickey was born May 25, 1966, in Charlotte, NC to the late Claude Anders Oxford Jr. and the late Barbara Jean Barrier Oxford. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rachel Diane Oxford and his nephew Isaac Anders Oxford.
Rickey attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and Dallas Theological Seminary. He was a true man of God called to preach. He was serving as pastor at Sandy Plain Baptist Church in Tabor City, NC and had a passion for praising God in music with solos, choirs, and quartet.
At the center of Rickey’s life was his Savior, Jesus Christ, followed by his family and survivors: wife Kimberly Dawn Oxford, daughter Addy Dawn Edwards (Jacob Turner Edwards), son Caleb Scott Oxford, son Samuel Zachariah Oxford, daughter Dominique Dare Irwin (Tom Edward Irwin), son EJ Oxford, grandson Julien Reed Edwards, granddaughter Jordan Olivia Edwards, brother Claude Anders Oxford III (Maria Oxford), niece Marissa Leeann Oxford (Nick Garcia), and niece Cailey Arielle Oxford (Klaus Henneke)
Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sandy Plain Baptist Church in Tabor City.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Also, a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, NC.
