Neil Lewis Fowler, age 86, of Southport, NC passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 peacefully at home in Southport, NC with his family. He was born on May 12th, 1938 in Tabor City, NC. He is the son of the late Bion Worth Fowler and Sanatha Stevens Fowler. He is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Duke Energy Brunswick Plant after 27 years. He was a founding member of Civil Air Patrol Squadron NC-170 Southport, where he was the communications officer until recently. He served as deacon and trustee for Bethel Baptist Church of Southport, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alma E. Fowler; son, Mark Fowler and daughter Kathy F. Davis (Alan); grandchildren, Brandon Fowler (Tracy) of Supply, NC, Rachel Edwards (Anthony) of Southport, NC, Francis Cooke (Anna) of Pensacola, Fl, Canyon Cooke (Sierra) of Knoxville, Tn, Alan C. Davis (Samantha) of Southport, NC, Ridge Cooke of Southport, NC; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
