Myrtle Alpha (Clewis) McCumbee

Myrtle Alpha McCumbee age 82, of Whiteville, NC passed away Monday, June 2, 2025.

Born in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Clewis and Clara Suggs Clewis Watts.

She is survived by one son, Gary McCumbee (Loretta) of Whiteville, NC, one daughter, Angela Chestnutt (Brian) of Tabor City, NC, two sisters, Eunice Ward of Chadbourn, NC, Mildred Hardwick of Whiteville, NC, two grandchildren, McKenzie and Bailey Chestnutt.

In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Eugene McCumbee, one brother, WC Clewis, one sister, Mary Elizabeth Brady.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 3:00pm in Macedonia Original Free Will Baptist Church, 48 Crusoe Island Rd Whiteville, NC 28472 with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
