Michael David “Barrell” Wright, age 48, of Longs, SC, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025.  Born February 28, 1977 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of Melita Byerly Wright of Tabor City, NC and Carl David Wright of Nakina, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Kevin Wright (Dawn) of Youngsville, NC; grandfather, John Byerly of Archdale, NC; and two nieces, Addison and Braelyn Wright.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma Byerly, Carl and Bertha Wright.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Wright Cemetery, Minos Meares Road.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Ward, Jason Hilburn, Whitney Hughes, Chad Turbeville, Richie Hinson, and Jason Greene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Randolph 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203, Donate - Hospice of Randolph, in memory of Michael’s grandmother, Thelma Byerly.
