Michael Newman Powell age 75, of the Mt. Zion Community, Loris died Thursday, May 1, 2025 in his home. 

Born in Mullins, SC he was the son of the late Percy & Ernestine Strickland Powell. 

He was a veteran of U.S. Marines. 

He is survived by one son, Tommie Powell (Crystal) of Loris, SC, one sister Vickie Anderson (Irvin) of Nichols, SC, one grandson Thomas Newman Powell. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Richia Powell, two brothers Marty and Steven Powell. 

No services will be held at this time.
