Martha (Nobles) Spivey

Martha Nobles Spivey, age 78, of Whiteville, NC, died Thursday, January 25, 2024 in her home.  Born April 23, 1945 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. James Nobles and Josephine Nealy Nobles.

She was a faithful member of Emerson Original Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Jackie Preston Spivey of the home; two sons, Randy Spivey (Lisa) Chadbourn, NC, and Greg Spivey (Kristie) of Cerro Gordo, NC; three sisters, Beth Ann Buffkin of Tabor City, NC, Linda Faye Perritte of Tabor City, NC, and Mary Lou Godwin (Dennie)  of Tabor City, NC; five grandchildren, Kandace Locklear (John), Ashley Sellers (Allen), Derek Spivey (April), Dylan Spivey (Taylor), and Megan Spivey; four great grandchildren, Merissa Spivey, Kenzi Spivey, Peyton Sellers, and Preston Spivey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Eugene Spivey; two brothers, Joseph Nobles, and James Howard “Buddy” Nobles; and one sister, Joyce Tyler.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Emerson Original Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
