Ms. Marilyn Jo Fipps, age 76, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Whiteville.  Born October 4, 1940 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Numpy A. and Sessie Magnolia Fowler Fipps.

She is survived by two sisters: Winetta Fipps Martin of Fuquay Varina, NC, Frances “Patsy” Merritt of Tabor City; one brother: James Ted Fipps of Maryville, TN; fourteen nieces; and six nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister: Ila V Fipps; and four brothers: Layton, Wade, Fred and Billy Fipps.

Visitation will be held, Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 AM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
