Marble Marie (Simmons) Dudley

Marble Marie Simmons Dudley, age 96, of the Beaverdam Community, died Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.  Born September 14, 1924 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Clarence Simmons and Bertha McPherson Simmons and the widow of George Edward Dudley.

She was a member of Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter: Barbara Dudley Alexander (Andrew Lodge) of Durham, NC; three sons: George Wayne Dudley (Louise) of Whiteville, NC, Gerald Reid Dudley (Cindy) of Chadbourn, NC and Terry Delane Dudley of Chadbourn, NC; one sister: Hazel Walker of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter in law: Juanita Dudley of Riegelwood, NC; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Harold Gene Dudley; two grandchildren: Darryl Dudley and Ricky Dudley; and three siblings: Carl Simmons, Paul Simmons and Muriel Dudley.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 2 PM in the McPherson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 2665 Beaverdam Road, Chadbourn, NC 28431.
