Mable Lee Ward Gore, age 78, of Tabor City, NC died Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center of Whiteville, NC. Born January 13, 1942 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Leavy and Alice Earline Spivey Ward and the widow of William Russell Gore.
She is survived by one son: William (Willie) Jon Gore and his wife Amy and her son Grayson Elliott of Tabor City, NC; one daughter Salena Phipps and her husband Greg of Tabor City, NC; two brothers: Luther James Ward and his wife Caroline of Milwaukee, WI and Leavy Thomas Ward and his wife Jean of Sparta, TN; two sisters: Alice Werner and her husband: Arnold of Pembine, WI and Pauline Worley of Whiteville, NC; six grandchildren: Michelle Spivey of Fayetteville, NC, Maxie McPherson of Chadbourn, NC, Christopher Spivey of Tabor City, NC Bruce Rabon of Galivants Ferry, SC, Paige Gore of Tabor City, NC and Hunter Gore of Clarendon, NC; seven great grandchildren: Caitlyn McPherson, Chesney McPherson, Courtney Fowler, Keegan Fowler, Madison Fowler, Dawson Spivey and McKenzie Spivey; and one great great grandchild: Khamari Calvert.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 3 PM in the Sandy Plain Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Sandy Plain Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic social distancing will be observed and the family has requested that all attendees wear a mask.
