Lonnie Lee Powers, age73, of Mullins, SC died Friday, December 27, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family.  Born August 20, 1951 in Dillon County, SC, he was the son of the late Dewey Powers and Elberta Lee Powers. 

He is survived by his wife, Doris Marie Hunt Powers of the home; three daughters, Gail Causey (Timmy) of Nichols, SC, Kim Long (Daryl) of Girard, GA, and Christy Buffkin (Bo) of Marion, SC; six grandchildren, Wesley Causey (Calleen) of Nichols, SC, Allyson Carraway of Oak Ridge, TN, Abigail Turner of Girard, GA, Dalton Buffkin of Marion, SC, Jillian Buffkin of Marion, SC, and Easton Buffkin of Marion, SC; four great grandchildren, Dallas Carraway, Colt Turner, Gray Carraway, and Tate Causey; two sisters, Margaret Byrd of Darlington, SC; Delmar Robinson (Roger) of Thomasville, NC; one brother, Dean Powers (Lula) of Thomasville, NC.  He is also survived by many, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and very special friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Mack Powers, Junior Powers, Raeford Powers, Woodrow Powers, and James Powers; and five sisters, Ruth Alder, Shirley Willis, Myrtle Lee Turner, Geraldine Thompson, and Betty Powers.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Mullins First Baptist Church Sanctuary.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Mullins First Baptist Church Sanctuary.  Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Nichols, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1950 Mt. Olive Church Road, Nichols, SC 29581.
