Leonard Henry McCraith, age 82, of Tabor City NC, passed away in his home with his wife by his side, Sunday, September 28, 2025.  Born in Cuyahoga County, OH, he was the son of the late Leonard Charles McCraith and Loretta Dibin McCraith.

He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a retired Anne Arundel County, MD Firefighter.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene D. Herpel McCraith of Tabor City, NC; two daughters, Trisha Horner (Brian) of Cross Junction VA, Laurie Horner of Carlisle PA; one son, Leonard H. McCraith, Jr. of Pasadena, MD; one stepson, Timothy G. Wengert (Cindy) of Pasadena, MD; one stepdaughter, Paulette M. Stevens; two sisters, Loretta “Lolly” Murvin (Butch) of Edgewater, MD, and Mary “Cookie”  Steinbrenner (Scott) of Pasadena, MD; ten grandchildren, Brittney, Meghan, Joshua, Krissy, Blake, Katlyn, Ryan, Christopher, Chelsea, Courtney; eleven great grandchildren, with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lester McCraith.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maryland.
