Lauretta Cox Smith, age 79, of Tabor City, NC, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in her home. Born May 18, 1945, in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Davis (JD) Cox and Ruby Lee Russ Cox.

She is survived by three sons, Ray Smith (Sandy) of Tabor City, NC, Michael Smith (Gina) of Tabor City, NC and Steven Smith of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren, Ashley S. Long, Austin G. Smith, Anna E. Smith, Cameron Ridgeway, and Kara Ridgeway; two sisters, Irene Grainger of Conway, SC and Janice Johnson of Loris, SC.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, Leonard Cox and Ronnie Cox; sister, Gloria Williams.

A Celebration of Life will be held in New Life Baptist Church on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in New Life Baptist Church.
