Judith Carolyn (Smith) Greene

Judith Carolyn Smith Greene passed away peacefully on May 13 , 2026. Judy resided in Tabor City before she moved to assisted living in Elizabethtown, N.C. Judy was born on June 14, 1939 in Columbus Co to Allie McCoy and Emma Wright Smith of Tabor City. She grew up in Tabor City and graduated from Tabor City High School in 1957. Judy went on to graduate from Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina.  She taught in the North Carolina and Tennessee public schools for many years. Judy was an accomplished musician and particularly organist.  Judy is survived by her daughter Julia Carol Greene, of Lumberton, N.C., and her granddaughter Jordan Leigh Eller of Winston-Salem, N.C.   She is also survived by her sister Jane Smith Patterson of Chapel Hill, N.C., and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Maitland Smith of Pittsboro, NC.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
