Josephine Cartrette, age 81, of Chadbourn, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in the Columbus Regional Medical Center, Whiteville, NC.

Born November 11, 1943 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late William Albert Cartrette and Agnes Mae Hardie Cartrette.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Earl Cartrette and John Wesley Cartrette, and several other step-sisters and step-brothers.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the McPherson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
