John David Wright of Clarendon entered into his eternal home on
Monday, Jan. 22. He was 77.
He was born on June 28,1946 in Sampson County, the son of the late
Flora Bell Chestnut Wright and Aaron Wright.
He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.
David retired as a Lieutenant with the Wilmington Police Department. He
proudly served 32 years as a member of law enforcement including time
with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department and the Clinton Police
Department.
David is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Long Wright; a son,
Christopher David Wright (Wendy) of Rocky Point; sisters Bernice Bradford
(John) of Autryville and Teresa Wright of Stedman; sisters-in-law Beth
McLean of Calabash and Susan L. Johnson (Eldred) of Loris; several
nieces and nephews; and David’s very special fur baby, Buddy, who
brought him many hours of joy.
Family would like to express their gratitude to our friends and neighbors
for all of their support and prayers during these difficult days
David’s Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan.
25, at Bethel Methodist Church, 2733 MM Ray Road, Clarendon.
Family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service in the
church.

Church, 8546 Lebanon Church Road, Clarendon, North Carolina 28432.
