John Colon Ward, 85, died Sunday May 29, 2022 in Columbus Regional Medical Center, Whiteville, NC. Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late John Craven Ward and Beatrice Jenrette Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Pearce Ward, son Sam Ward, and three sisters, Joyce Robbins, Dare Long, Delma Rae Johnson.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen Williams and husband, Danny of Fayetteville, NC; three grandchildren, Daniel Williams, Amy Powell and husband, Joshua, and Holly Ward; and two great grandchildren, Annalise and Zelda Powell.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Ward Cemetery located on the Mooney Ford Rd, Nakina, NC.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of him to the American Cancer Society.
