Jimmy Edward Jolly

Jimmy Edward Jolly age 84, of the Mollie community died Thursday, February 23, 2023 in Columbus Regional Health Care System, Whiteville, NC. Born February 9, 1939 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late James Arthur Jolly and Mary “Mollie” Frances Todd Jolly.

He was a 1957 graduate of Williams Township High School, after high school he served in the U. S. Army. He later served on the bank boards of the former Southern National Bank and the Land Bank, LLC.  He was a farmer and owner of the Agri King in Tabor City, and a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Patricia Strickland Jolly of the home; two daughters, Teresa Jolly Rasberry and husband Mark of Whiteville, NC, and Deidre Jolly Ross and husband Jamie of Clermont, FL; two grandchildren, Jeremy Lynn Rasberry and Morgan Paige Rasberry; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Jolly and Glendale Jolly; and two sisters, Edna J. Brown and Annie Pearl Hardee.       

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Wayne Faulk with burial to follow in the Jolly Cemetery #2 located on the Mollie Iron Hill Rd., Tabor City.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
