Jerry Jerome Lanier, age 78, of Tabor City, NC died Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in Mcleod Seacoast Hospital, Little River, SC. Born November 16, 1947, in Columbus County, NC, he was the eldest son of the late Jacob “Jake” Jerome Lanier and Leona Spivey Lanier.

He is survived by one son, Darren Jerome Lanier of Shallotte, NC; one daughter Regina Suzanne Lanier of Conway, SC; two brothers, Timothy Lanier (Phyllis) of Tabor City, NC and James Franklin Lanier (Debbie) of Green Sea, SC; three sisters, Katrina Powell (Dale) of Loris, SC, Sara Richardson (Willie) of Greenville, NC, and Donna Kearse (Bryan) of Tabor City, NC,  and three grandchildren, Hannah Marie Lanier, Ava Grace Griffith and Jacob Eldon Lanier.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM in Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Wright Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
