James “JW” Waymon Stocks, age 79, of Tabor City, NC died Sunday, January 17, 2021 in his home. Born September 24, 1941 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late James Bertis and Mildred Faulk Stocks.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda Soles Stocks of the home; one son: Jeffrey Stocks and his wife Christy of Chadbourn, NC; two daughters: Robin Hill and her husband Chris of Tabor City, NC and Crystal Shepherd of Tabor City, NC; one sister: Frances “Frankie” Evans of Ash, NC; eight grandchildren: Alyssa Hill, CJ Hill, Allison Grimmett, Jaxon Hill, Jennifer Stocks, Ashleigh Stocks, Madison Shepherd and Alexis Shepherd.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Colis Stocks, Dale Stocks, and Glen “Tiny” Stocks; one sister: Carolyn Ellis.
JW was a member of Dulah Missionary Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Dulah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
