James Allen “Big Al” Johnson, 60, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson was born in Conway, SC, son of the late Henry Lloyd Johnson and Mary Brown Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Tracy Morgan of Whiteville, NC and James Allen (Crystal) Johnson, Jr of Little River, SC; four grandchildren, Ashley (Angel) Lee of Aynor, SC, Teeya Lee of Whiteville, NC, Alley and James “AJ” Allen Johnson, III of Little River, SC; four great-grandchildren, Kayden & Kolesyn Maldonado, and Kynden and Ansleigh Lee; brothers, Lloyd (Debra) Johnson, Roger (Rose) Johnson, Artie Johnson, Edward Johnson, and Timmy Johnson; his sister, AnnieBelle Johnson; his partner, JoAnn Neese; her children, Sarah Neese (Andrew) Hewett, Jerry (Rachel) Todd, and her eight grandchildren; and predeceased by her daughter, Sierra Neese,

Big Al was a loving Father, PaPa, Son, Brother, and Friend to everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed cooking and operating Mama’s Restaurant in Tabor City, NC. A celebration of life will be held at a later date by his children.
