Heath Buffkin, age 45, of Vermilion, OH died February 9, 2021 in Merced, CA. Born July 20, 1975 in Conway, SC, he was the son of Addie Martin Buffkin and the late Moody Dale Buffkin.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter: Megan Buffkin and her mother: Tonia Akers of Vermilion, OH; one sister: Kimberly Dawn Blackwell of Tabor City, NC; one niece: Hayley Blackwell of Columbia, SC; one nephew: Brayden Blackwell of Tabor City, NC; step-mother: Cindy Cook of Gastiona, NC and step-grandmother: Mary Ann Ailstock of Gastonia, NC.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: C.A. Buffkin, Judy Bell Buffkin Benton and Buck Ailstock; and maternal grandparents: Jackson R. Martin and Lena C. Martin.

Heath was a graduate of South Columbus High School class of 1993 and after graduation from high school, he served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for the Myrtle Beach Convention Makers for 15 years before he obtained his CDL’s. Heath was employed by H.Q. Marine Transport as a long haul truck driver until his time of passing.

A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
