Guy Russell Canady Sr

Guy Russell Canady Sr. age 79 of Nakina, NC., died Friday, April 17, 2026 in his daughter's home in Gray, GA. Born in Columbus County, NC., he was the son of late Grover Russell Canady & Elmarie Prince Canady. 

In addition to his parent's he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Pierce Canady. 

He was a veteran of the U.S Army. 

He is survived by one son, Guy Russell Canady Jr. (Christy) of Nakina, NC., one daughter, Clarissa Handlos (Steve) of Gray, Ga. one sister, Gail Norris (Vern) of Columbia, SC., five grandchildren, Katelyn Grace Connor (Steven), Lauren Graye Canady, Summer Handlos, Sierra Handlos, Dylan Handlos, one great grandchild, Rylee Graye Connor. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00pm in Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City. 

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in chapel.
