Guilford Monroe Barnes, age 84, of Whiteville, NC, died Saturday, April 9, 2022. Born January 19, 1938 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Lossie Cleveland Barnes and Jennie Missouri Strickland Barnes.

He is survived by one son, Tim Barnes of Clarendon, NC; one daughter, Robin Barnes Prince of Clarendon, NC; one brother, George Robert “Buster” Barnes of Rosehill, CA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Barnes, Josh Barnes, Sarah Barnes Coker, Clyde Prince, Timothy Barnes, Olivia Barnes and Skye Barnes; nine great grandchildren, Isaac Barnes, Ford Barnes, Mattie Barnes, Blake Barnes, MacKenzie Barnes, Matt Coker, Harley Coker, Abbye Barnes and Jacob Barnes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Bridget Barnes; and one son, Jeffrey Kim Barnes.

Services will be private.
