Mrs. Geneva Long, age 89, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the Columbus Regional Medical Center, Whiteville, NC.  Born October 17, 1927 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Prosper Stanley and Eva Lula Stanley and the widow of Samuel Lester Hardie Sr. and Willie Long.

She is survived by three sons: Johnny Hardie of Leland, NC, Roger Kenneth Hardie of Rieglewood, NC, Mitchell Wayne Hardie of Calabash; one brother: Thomas Stanley of Clarendon, NC; one sister: Cleo Flowers of Wilmington, NC; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by three sons: Lawrence Ronald Hardie, William Hardie, Samuel Lester Hardie Jr.; daughter: Shelvia Jean Bishop; four brothers: Fred Stanley, Robert Stanley, Delphus Stanley, Etheridge Stanley; and one sister: Mary Rote.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11 AM in the Sweet Home Baptist Church, Clarendon, NC.  Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
