Gene Rogers Hinson

Gene Rogers Hinson, age 75, of the Beaverdam Community died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC. Born January 16, 1945 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late George Lacy and Mattie Mae Cribb Hinson.

He is survived by his wife: Nancy McPherson Hinson of the home; one son: Carey Gene Hinson of Clarendon, NC; two daughters: India Jean Hinson Boswell and her husband Jamie of Whiteville, NC and Misty Simmons and her husband Brent of Clarendon, NC; two sisters: Janice Powell of Clarendon, NC and Virgie McPherson of Clarendon, NC; six grandchildren: Trevor Simmons, Embry Simmons, Lacey Hinson, Brody Hinson, Jesse Tyree and Ian Boswell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Woodrow Hinson, George Lacey Hinson, Jr., Elbert Hinson, and E.T Hinson; two sisters: Ruby Hinson and Mertis Hinson.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Hinson Cemetery, James Hinson Rd., Clarendon, NC.

Visitation will be held in the cemetery following the service.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic social distancing will be observed and the family ask that all attendees wear a mask.
