Fred Archely Whaley

Fred Archely Whaley, age 76, of Nakina, NC, died Thursday, July 20, 2023 in his home.  Born June 16, 1947 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Herman Archely Whaley and Ruth Maples Whaley.

He is survived by two daughters, Ashley Freeman and husband Justin of Nakina, NC, and Kristi Enderle of New York; three brothers, Donnie Whaley of Nakina, NC, Ben Whaley of Nakina, NC, and Glen Whaley of Chadbourn, NC; two sisters, Lorena Lein of Sevierville, TN and Patricia Ridgeway of Bladenboro, NC; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Whaley, Eugene Whaley, and Sam Whaley; and one sister, Lola Whitt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Happy Home Baptist Church, Nakina, NC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
