Nichols, SC
Elizabeth “Lib” Hulon Jones of Nichols, SC passed away peacefully on April 27, with family by her side.
Born April 6, 1944, in Horry County to the late R.J. and Eulee Hulon. She was the widow of Cecil H. Jones.
She is survived by three sons: Don Elliott (Donna) of the Cedar Creek Community, Darryl Elliott of Nichols SC, and David Elliott (Maria) of Whiteville NC. Eight grandchildren: Danielle Wright (Kevin) of Conway SC, Derrick Elliott (Gwen) of Galivants Ferry SC, Franklin Anderson (Amanda) of Nichols SC, Jessica Elliott of Mullins SC, Ashley Humphrey (Jake) of Whiteville NC, Coty Elliott (Victoria) of Whiteville NC, Michael Elliott of Whiteville NC, and Morgan Martin (Joseph) of Nichols, SC, and 12 precious great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Billy Hulon, Johnny Hulon, Bobby Hulon, Larry Hulon, and a beloved sister and best friend Faye Harris.
Lib dedicated her life to caretaking, homemaking, and reupholstering furniture with her sister at Harris Upholstery. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and a good Pepsi. Despite her large family, Lib always made time for them all. She especially enjoyed teaching the ones who called her, “Grandma Lib”, how to cook, sew, play card games, and fish.
She cared deeply for her family. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help and truly was a servant. Her family was arguably her most important achievement in her life. The family was blessed with a wonderful matriarch.
