Donald Ray Cartrette

Donald Ray Cartrette rested from this life on Thursday, March 10, 2016.  Donald was born in Columbus County to the late Cleveland and Dora Godwin Cartrette on January 13, 1945.  Number ten of fourteen children, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Dewey, Cleon, Charles, and Rudie Cartrette, one sister, Idell, as well as step daughter, Gail McDaniel and son, Timmy Cartrette.  

He is survived by his wife, Kathy T. Cartrette of Loris, SC, a daughter, Denise Brown of Chesapeake, VA and two grandchildren, one brother, Horace Cartrette of Clarendon and seven sisters, Jean Gore of Whiteville, Emma Jane Simmons of Chesapeake, VA, Carolyn Duncan of Chadbourn, Peggy Housand of Clarendon Donna McPherson of Clarendon, Penny Witter of Fayetteville, NC, and Katrina Canady also of Clarendon.  Step children Debbie Boyette, Jonathan Hardwick, Heather Butler, Brayane Buffkin, Stacey Todd, and five step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, (March 13, 2016) 5:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Family will receive guest one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
