Charlie Monroe Norris

Charlie Monroe Norris, age 71, of Tabor City, NC, died Friday, January 6, 2023 in his home.  Born July 25, 1951 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late John Vinston Norris and Lannie Cartrette Norris, and the widower of Lois Norris.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator with Boyd’s Land Clearing for 30 years and with CP&E for 15 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Norris (Juan Carlos); stepchildren, Hilda (Victor) Montiel, Charles (Brenda) Faircloth, Roger Faircloth and Lacy Faircloth; one sister, Margie Tyler; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Monroe Norris; five brothers, Cliff Norris, Bill Norris, Matthew Norris, Howard Norris and Melvin Norris; and three sisters, Luria Godwin, Eloise Fowler and Betty Fowler.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Stanley Stevens Cemetery, Nakina, NC.
