Tabor City, NC

Mr. Charles William Duncan Sr., age 94, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the McLeod Loris Hospital.  Born September 7, 1921 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Alton Edwin and Retha Long Duncan and the widower of Mary Ellen Stanley Duncan.

He is survived by four brothers: Homer Duncan of Wilmington, NC, Tom Duncan of Nakina, NC, Pete Duncan of Tabor City, NC, Jimmy Duncan of Kearns, UT; three grandchildren: William Duncan of Niantic, CT, Autumn Johnson of Statesville, NC, Cami Walker of Kernersville, NC; six great grandchildren; one daughter in law: Cindy Duncan of Winston Salem, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son: William “Bill” Duncan; three sisters: Vergie Smith, Virginia Moore, Magdalene Jenkins.

Mr. Duncan was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

A Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Duncan Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
