Charles David Godwin, age 72, of Chadbourn, NC, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Born August 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Odom Godwin and Sarah Mildred Rogers Godwin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores McPherson Godwin.

He is survived by one son, Casey Godwin (Cydell) of Clarendon, NC; two brothers, Tim Godwin (Angie) of Clarendon, NC and Andy Godwin (Sheila) of Whiteville, NC; and two grandchildren, Candice Godwin and Coy Godwin.

He was the Fire Chief at Roseland Fire Department for 32 years and managed the New Tabor Warehouse for 30 years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Hinson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
