Carolyn Long Ward

Carolyn Long Ward, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on September 6, 1939, Carolyn was known for her kind heart and her ability to keep a room laughing. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, and her warm smile that could light up a room. Carolyn took pride in raising her family and making sure everyone was fed, taken care of, and happy. She was creative with having a passion for vegetable gardening, painting, cooking, and baking.

Carolyn is survived by her sister, Ruth Long Price; son, Greg Holmes (Joanne); daughters, Wanda Phifer (Steve) and Johnsie Littlefield; three grandchildren, Aaron Holmes (Jenna), Kia (Nikolas) and Kaci Littlefield; and two great-grandchildren, Elsie and Hudson Holmes; She was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy W. Long and Mattie Pucket Long; her husband; Willie Davis Ward, and daughter, Joyce Holmes.

Carolyn’s family invites you to celebrate her life at a graveside service held at Ward’s Cemetery at 1:00pm Saturday, December 14, 2024.
