Betty June Ward 90, died Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in MUSC Health Marion Medical Center, Mullins, SC. Born in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Albert Dow Watts and Edith Docia Soles Watts.
She was a member of Tabor City Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir.
She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Ward Shelley (Thelton) of Nichols, SC, Donna Lynn Ward (Reuben) of Green Sea, SC, one brother, Ronald Watts of Tabor City, NC, two sisters, Doris Grainger of Green Sea, SC, Phyllis Althen of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Three grandchildren; Justin Shelley, Bart King (Rena), Holley Sellers (Phillip). Three great granddaughters, Jacquelyn Sellers, Madison Shelley, and Shelley Sellers, and three great-grandsons, Mason King, Knox King, and Banks King.
In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Blease Ward, five brothers, Bill Watts, Ted Watts, Ned Watts, Don Watts, Dale Watts. Two sisters, Virginia Long, Peggy Currie.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City, NC.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00am in the Tabor City Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
Memorials may be made to the Tabor City Baptist Church Choir 200 Live Oak St. Tabor City, NC.
