Betty Jo Lunsford, 73, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, in Tabor City. She was born July 6, 1949, in Marion County, SC, a daughter of the late Robert R. and Lou Mae (Strickland) Bell.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina Hamacher of Cherryville, NC; one son, Joe Akridge of Stillmore, GA; two sisters, Nancy Cribb of Tabor City and Marie Stephens of Murrells Inlet; four brothers, Carlton Bell of Loris, Freddie Bell of Ladson, SC, Spencer Bell of Lexington, and Robert Bell of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren, Austin Hamacher, Kayli Hamacher, Juliana Akridge, Rebecca Akridge, Parker Harril, Kaitlyn Bell, Madelyn, and Sophia Bell, both of Columbia, SC; and one great-grandson, Mitchell Purvis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean Lunsford; one son, Ricky Bell; two daughters, Melissa and Rhonda Johnson; one grandson, Jimmy Akridge; three brothers, Jack, Edgar, and Sam Bell; and a sister, Barbara Mortimore.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
