Azure Lee Nobles, age 86, of Green Sea, SC, died Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in the McLeod Seacoast Hospital, Little River, SC.  Born October 19, 1937 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Ardle Nobles and Melissie Norris Nobles.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife Mildred Strickland Nobles.  One son, Rev. Stephen “Steve” Lee Nobles and wife Glenda of Green Sea, SC.  One daughter, Gail Nobles Goss and husband Christopher of Charlotte, NC.  Four brothers, Thurman Nobles of Lexington, NC, Williard Nobles (Julia) of Tabor City, NC, Tony Nobles (Cecil) of Tabor City, NC, and Teeny Nobles of Mullins, SC.  Two grandchildren, John Goss (Andrea) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Lenora Goss of Charlotte, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ardle Theston Nobles; and two sisters, Mildred Horne and Evelyn Parker.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gapway Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
