Anna Louise (Cox) Long

Tabor City, NC

Anna Louise Cox Long, age 87, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Pacifica Senior Living, Spartanburg, SC. Born January 30, 1933 in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Grady and Dola Mae Fowler Cox.

She is survived by her husband: James Elbert Long of Tabor City, NC; three daughters: Diana Long Bedenbaugh and her husband Thomas of Gaffney, SC, Melissa Wise and her husband Steve of Loris, SC and Toni Taylor and her husband Doug of Florence, SC; close family friend: James Marley of Wilkes County, NC; brother: Paul Cox of Loris, SC; two sister: Nina Collier of Whiteville, NC and Elsie Burroughs of Loris, SC; five grandchildren: Jessica Brown, Anna Taylor, Wilson Beck, Jason Bedenbaugh and Christopher Bedenbaugh; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Lena McCants.

Anna was an active member at Dogwood Hill Baptist Church, where she served as Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, WMU, Silver Tones, and assisted with the Good News Club. She served on the Chamber of Commerce in Tabor City, Business Professional Woman, President and member of the North Carolina Yam Festival board for many years. Anna loved jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
