Alma Lois (Hinson) Cartrette

Alma Lois Hinson Cartrette, age 94, of Clarendon, NC, died Friday, May 16, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born September 18, 1930 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Daniel “Dan” Hinson and Stella Hardie Hinson.

She attended Clarendon Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Rev. Bobby Cartrette (Betty) of Clarendon, NC, and Randall Gene Cartrette of Whiteville, NC; one daughter, Frances Ann Gore of Whiteville, NC; one brother, Otis Wayne Hinson of High Point, NC; six grandchildren, Milton Gore, Lisa Cribb, David Jason Cartrette, Whitlee Lemea Cartrette, Faith Cartrette, and Amy Rogers; sixteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Austin Cartrette; one son, John Mack “JM” Cartrette; four grandchildren, Rodney Gore, Christopher Gore, Marty Cartrette, and Sarah Angel Cartrette; and one great grandson, Ryland Cartrette.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
